I attempted to climb the Arete on Sunday, unfortunately got caught on whiteout at the beginning of the arete. I've done this route several times, solo and with group.

I parked my car 1.5km lower to the actual trailhead. The snow on the trail  was well compact and icy.

Snow condition was perfect to climb, bomber, and it was really cold that day. However, a lot of big cornices on the western side of the arete.

Not a lot of snow this year. It looks like there were a fair number of people wandering around up there from all the tracks.

What would the approach be like for skiing, Dean?
