I and a friend are hoping to take part in a mountaineering trip in Patagonia this summer. But with the us boarder not being reliably open for travel I am wanting to build a BC training plan so we don't have to rely on Baker and Reiner like we usually do. What are some accessable peaks over 9000ft that we can get our elevation training done on? The two I have heard about is Mt Robson in Alberta and Mt Ulysses in the northern Rockies. Though I have not heard of any established routes up Mt Ulysses. Looking for some advice thanks!
I was up in Golden last summer on the Mummery Glacier. You could access peaks like Mount Barlow, Gilgit, Jones Peak, Mount Karakal from the east side of the glacier. Mount Mummery itself is quite challenging. Route finding for these peaks would be required but they are accessible from Golden via Blaeberry Road: Mummery Glacier Recreation Site https://goo.gl/maps/dzgyjujiSbiiKcZg7 There is glacier travel involved to these peaks, but if you are hitting Patagonia, Ranier, Baker, Robson, I assume you got this down. There is probably tons of other peaks in the Rockies too.
