Here is a good method for getting strong when there is no ice nearby. Note the figure 4 with big reach - crucial for making big moves on a mixed route. Obviously this doesn't help with the challenge of swinging tools all day, but will certainly help with grip strength and overall shoulder/arm strength. Combine with a good tricep workout..

Cool  wow, pretty cool way to train, and easy to build a structure like that at home in my garage!
