Hey,
I was looking at some of the ski-able terrain in the Coast Mountains directly accessible from Vancouver and came across Hanes Valley as some simple terrain that may make for some fun skiing.
The only information I can find on it is a trip report from a hike done during the summer months (Link: https://bcmc.ca/m/articles/view/Hanes-Valley-trail).
Does anyone have any information or experience with Hanes Valley in the winter?
Thanks,
Jordan
Most of the Hanes Valley is low elevation so it doesn't get the best snow. Upper Hanes valley just north of Crown Pass is exposed to avalanches from the north side of Crown Mountain. The best location for backcountry skiing close to Vancouver is Hollyburn in my opinion.
