Hello fellow BCMCers. Unless you've had your head in the sand, you're probably aware that certain safety questions have been raised by the ski community about the Pieps DSP Sport and Pro avalanche transceivers.

At this time, Pieps/Black Diamond has not issued a formal recall notice for these beacons. Instead, they have a paid upgrade program to transition to a Pieps Powder or BD Recon.

If you're a club member who is concerned about the safety of your Pieps DSP transceiver and you wish to upgrade, but the cost is a prohibitive factor, please DM or email me. I would be glad to trade your Pieps with the questionable switch mechanism for a brand new Mammut Barryvox at no cost to you.

If you had a recalled Pieps / BD transceiver, and you opted to buy a new or different brand instead of participating in the BDEL exchange program, RHE Law wants to talk to you about your standing in a class action suit.
Full disclosure: I'm not part of the class, nor am I part of the firm; I'm simply a concerned BCMCer.

Also, I'm no longer going to honour the offer I made to club members on 20201105. It's been nearly a year and I feel that the offer has run its natural course. Thank you to those who reached out to me on that topic.
