Short hike up from were I am working, about 45 min. from 4000 ft to just over 5000 ft. Terrain is sub rolling mountains in a sub arctic semi arid climate. Buck brush is the head high equivelant to slide alder and there is no shortage of eye pokers. Ground covery is spongy tundra like over boulders that hide ankle bitters and leg breakers. Fourtunately there was a roughed out trail, a left-over from a long ago field survey and that I followed to just below the high point.
Nice scrambling. Do you have to worry about wolves getting after your dog?
