Does anybody know how badly crevassed is the Place Glacier when doing the North Joffre Creek Horseshoe Traverse? I

will be keen on doing this soon and I would like to get some beta

I was there late October. The glacier is fairly mellow and the crevasse is not bad.

I'm standing in the middle of the glacier, looking towards Olds and Oleg. Those crevasses are not big, this is where you have to  descend  to the lower glacier/hut.. If you want to bag Gardiner along to your traverse, you have to stay to the ridge on the right and descend that way.

Looking North towards the hut.  Really flat and most of the slots are on the side.

This is what it looks like on the upper Glacier of Olds and Oleg from Gardiner vatage point.

I contacted Diana about this traverse. She did it around February last year. http://www.flickr.com/photos/veggie2go/sets/72157632921520303/

I was skiing in Cayoosh Mountain on Sunday.  Here's what it looks like of Saxifrage- Cassiope- Place Glacier area on the South side. Still looks thin.
