Rebecca, Lea, Claire and I set out to Mt. Harvey North Ramp. We arrived at 6 am at the trailhead and soon left in the drizzle. Two and a half hours later we got to the base in a whiteout. We could not see the ramp. In the main time, we roped up and got ready. As soon as we got started, we had clear skies for a moment. Snow conditions were 3,2,1. We assessed as we got to the base. The 10 cm snow was well bonded with the rain crust. We had some solid purchase. No post-holing involved. There were occasional spin-drift and snow fluffs going down the snow trench path as we ascended the ramp. Past Harvey`s Pup, it got steeper 50 plus degrees. We had some truly alpine conditions. Rain, snow, hail mixed with some wind made the experience worthwhile. Once on top of the ramp, the traverse was uneventful. Sun was greeting us as we made our way to the top. We arrived, I think, around 3:30 pm at the summit. Fun day spend with real cool people.
