Howdie. I've never been high up in the Tantalus but have a bit of experience in other alpine terrain. I'm thinking of following the route description in Kevin McLane's Alpine Select to attempt the East Ridge on Mount Alpha in the Tantalus this week. I'm expecting there to be a lot of snow still - not sure exactly what to expect up there for conditions, though I see that most trip reports don't go quite this early. Too soon? I'm wondering if there are any significant changes in trail or glacier conditions significantly impacting the route as described in the book. Thanks for any beta!
It's secondhand info, but my buddy Mike did it last week. He said snow conditions were great for a quick descent. No snow on the scramble portions.
