Hey Everyone,

I am organizing some of the courses and camps this summer and getting ready and planning ahead so hopefully the club can see some positive change to satisfy members more for the summer and learn how to apply new learned lessons year-round. I know people think the club needs more trips and courses and it shows because these are always full and can also be difficult to get in on a trip unless your fast enough. I have some ideas on creating more interest for members to organize trips and lead instructional courses but I am really curious what you think.

I am wandering if there are any incentives that you think should be considered that may promote more people wanting to organize trips and how to go about planning, organizing, and implementing your idea?

Do you think the club has to get more publicity maybe via different media streams in order to catch the attention of outdoor people that haven't led or organized anything but are skilled at our core activities?

Or maybe you have no idea what organizing a  trip or leading a course entails but you are interested and have some basic random questions to ask?

I would like to hear from you!

Thanks you very much,

Well, there is the BCMC recognition program which Brittany posted about last month; hopefully that will help. My vague perception is that the club has seen a big influx in new members (thanks Werner) but it's much easier to attract people without the experience or desire to lead, and so the balance has shifted.
