I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to the team at BCMC for their hard work in marking and maintaining this new trail, and especially building the gorgeous new hut!! It is so well built and thought out to the last little detail. Every nook, hook, piece of wood, pot, and lamp was a welcome bonus :) Also, thank you for providing GPX maps on this website, the added comfort of navigation assistance was much appreciated :) The trail itself is very easy to navigate until you get closer to the debris chute (after the main boulder fields). We didn't hit snow until around here, and it is very easy to break through in a lot of spots which definitely slows your pace. The markers start to get a bit spaced out here too but the directions online are clear enough to help navigate through. There is also still a ton of snow the last 0.7km as you ascend the final 200m boulder field to the hut. Microspikes definitely help here! (and a garbage bag to slide down on the way home is good too) ;) The lake is still frozen but there are spots along the edges that are melting and starting to expose the bright blue water. I cannot wait to come back in the summer to see the lake in its full glory, and make this my new home away from home! Awesome job BCMC :)
