Hi Guys. Has anyone done the Howe Sound Crest Trail yet this season or been in the area recently? Im just trying to get an idea of the conditions to see if it's worth trying this weekend.

I have the same question on the Howe Sound Crest Trail. Lions Bay SAR posted this image below from the Magnesia Meadows Emergency Shelter on FB on May 7, 2017. So at that point the snow depth was a couple of feet over the top of the shelter. Not sure how much snow has melted since then...

MattC I joined AllTrails.com and livetrails.com. At both websites there are a few posts in the last 7-10 days with hikes into Brunswick, Deeks, Mt. Harvey and towards HSCT. If you search these trails see the user posted images that give an idea of the snow pack. My guess is it is clear to Deek's Lake and patchy snow up to Brunswick Lake...maybe the south facing slope of Brunswick is clear too, but Magnesia Meadows looks snow covered and still quite deep, judging from the LB SAR post on FB.

Hey, Just did a portion of the howe sound trail today, July 16th, trail is snow free to strachan meadows. Past this I don't know but likely has seen significant melting.

On July 1 > 2 weeks ago from Deeks L to Brunswick Mt was mostly snow covered and Brunswick Lake was about 90% frozen. Had to wade knee deep through Brunswick Lake b4 the shelter. It was very slow going and with a fair bit of post-holing. Took trail down to Lions Bay from Mt. Brunswick. Not sure where is Stratchan Meadows (?)...that is before the Lions if you are coming from the Cypress direction?
