Gravell Peak on Skis

March 15, 2015 - Gravell Peak is an obscure peak, East of Mount Currie. The access is via Green River FSR at Pemberton valley, heading towards the airport.
Green River FSR is in good shape and it is currently active being logged at 2km mark. Just after crossing the bridge of Gravell creek, we took the road to the right. Just 1km after leaving Green River FSR, we got stopped by a fallen tree at 380m, blocking the road access further. We parked our car and started walking, taking the West spur of Gravell Creek road. There was a section of the road that had been washed out and almost like a canyon deep. We followed the road until it got succumbed by alders, and we started ascending on the NW ridge of Gravell Peak.

I initially read the title as "Gravel Peak on Skis" an thought you must be pretty desperate from all this lack of snow to start skiing on gravel.

I can't really complain as I'm always skiing every week-end since November.  You just have to travel inland and of course you don't mind a long approach.
