This is so fantastic and I have been waiting for something like this for 2-3 years! A big thank you to the organizers. It is obviously well oversubscribed (by ~3x). Not having the knowledge, I cannot lead this sort of class, but is there anything I can do to help?

Regarding the Mountaineering Intro, it has been very difficult to limit the number of participants given the demonstrated interest but the number of participants is tempered by the need for effective learning and safety .  I appreciate the offer to help and as your skills and knowledge increases, it is likely that you will be taken up on that offer.

I am inspired by the level of interest in training.  This speaks very well for the club and gives me comfort to know that members takes skills and training seriously.  It is unfortunate that there hasn't been much in the way of volunteer-led general mountaineering courses the last couple of years.  It disappointed me to have to turn down participants on a trip as they did not have any glacier training or experience.  I believe that we shall see this change.

There are several other training courses on the schedule and likely more to come as volunteers can determine and commit to a schedule.  Also, the BCMC has arranged a standing discount with the CWMS (https://bcmc.ca/club_courses.php) that can fill the gap when volunteer-led courses are sparse.  I believe that additional discounts may be possible if the BCMC arranges exclusive training.
