Climbing gym: check out the Richmond Oval

We went to the Richmond oval on May 13 and were impressed with the facility. The rock climbing wall is smaller than at Cliffhanger Vancouver, but it's not very busy and there are no lead climbing closures. We found that there was a good variety of climbs (5.6 to 5.13), although many of the climbs are overhanging, so it feels a bit harder than at the Cliffhanger. The staff was super-friendly and there was no issue whatsoever in getting the BCMC deal ($11.50 day pass, no fee for belay test and first time at facility). Next time I would check out to see if I can also ice skate on the same evening. Amazing facility!!! I recommend checking it out.

I've been a few times as well and it really is a nice facility with no crowds. The only downside is that there are fewer climbs and I don't think the routes are changed very often.
