I don't know about you but I thoroughly enjoyed Maria Masiar's presentation about snowshoe mountaineering. I really appreciate the commitment to spreading awareness about potential hazards and how to avoid misfortune when venturing out into our very accesible but wildly dangerous playground.

Someone asked Maria in the Q&A portion of the presentation how this information could reach people that weren't at the event. Here's what I think:

1) Talk about your learnings with fellow mountain enthusiasts; whether new or well seasoned. The conversation could trigger new ideas or insights and if nothing else, we can all use reminders on how to be safe from time to time. In my hiking group chat, someone brought awareness to the importance of AST and very quickly, the interest of taking the course rippled through the whole group.

2) Resource sharing. Maybe when posting about your latest adventure on social media, you can share your favourite navigation tool or information on your favourite piece of gear on that trip.

Here are some links to a couples apps and websites Maria highlighted this evening.

I'd love to hear what people thought about the talk, what stood out for you and any other comment you want to share.
