Hello all,

I'm wondering if anyone knows what's happening with the Mountaineering Summer Camp? Because its during the week, planning of time off, logistical stuff, etc...needs to be planned if the program is happening and accepted into it. 

Does anyone know the status of the course? There are two of us wanting to sign up.

it will be a great course at a very low price and taught by one of our best volunteer instructors, but unfortunately the instructor, Justin, is still figuring out family logistics before he can commit to those dates. We hope to confirm the dates very soon.

A little progress, but not necessarily anything that helps... Justin has recently had to start double-duty at work and can't get time-off very easily... so he's figuring out what to do. It's a tough place to be as he loves teaching that course, but getting the pieces to fit hasn't been easy this year. Sorry about the delay everyone, but that's unfortunately what happens occasionally with volunteer-taught courses.

I can of course appreciate the efforts being made regarding the Summer Camp program. This course is 12 days away at this point if still scheduled. Is there another update at this point?

Sorry for the delay in the decision on the Summer Camp.  I was working the angles to find some way not to change it, but unfortunately I just can't make it work.  This is unfortunate as it was a great camp last year and I was really looking forward to it.  I decided to convert the 1 week course into a number of seperate weekends that are in the usual non-pay format.  See the schedule for the first of those posted.  As long as the 8 person minimum is hit these weekend courses will not be a problem to execute.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking to join this course as well, so am bummed to see that the whole thing isn't happening, if only it could have worked out :)

I've noticed there is a course for glacier leading, which appears to coincide with the last couple of days of the original course, and there was another course offered in May that seems to have mirrored the first 3 days of the course. Does this mean if you missed the course in May, you likely will be unable to take this upcoming course?

I am in the same position as AlpineTrekker. I really want to participate in the weekends, but I am not able to sign up even though around 8 people seem to have joined today. Why is this happening?
