The intent of this trip is to summit on two of the more prominent peaks in the range south of the Coquihalla Pass. The trip will leave Vancouver Friday after work around 6 pm and drive over the Coquihalla Pass to the Illal Creek Meadows trail head where we will car camp. (This departure time may chance to 5am Saturday morning). On Saturday we will climb Coquihalla Mountain as a long day trip via the west ridge. This day trip will begin on a good trail that leads into beautiful alpine terrain. Once we return to the cars on Saturday evening we will drive to south to Treasure Mountain where we will car camp for the second night. On Sunday we will hike up through forest (may involve some bushwhacking) to Tulameen's long alpine northwest ridge, which we will follow to the summit, making a short detour to the south ridge near the summit to avoid the most difficult section). After retracing our route we'll head back to Vancouver.
Both days will be fairly long with plenty of distance and elevation gain, and we can expect to return late Sunday, however, the trip will involve substantial travel above tree line and plenty of travel in pleasant alpine terrain.
The trip is rated C/D due to uncertainty about trip length and group speed. I believe the days will be shorter than 12 hours I'm not certain not having done the trips before and not knowing the group involved.
