In 2006 the city of Dresden celebrates 800 years - an anniversary. A group of BCMC and Saxonia climbers celebrate this their way; they leave a little flag of the Saxonian capital on the summit of 8714 feet high Dresden Mtn. in the Coast Range of British Columbia. But before they can scale Dresden Mtn., the climbers, Frank Meutzner, Cristian Unger, Silke and Peter Gumplinger, canoe across Chilko Lake and traverse from Franklin Arm via Good Hope Creek and the shoulder of Good Hope Mtn. The traverse continues to the south end of Chilco Lake - a repeat of a traverse done only once before - also by a BCMC party.
