Come and hike for one, two, or all three days this sunny Thanksgiving Weekend in Manning Park.
Saturday we'll summit Mt. Frosty, taking time to enjoy the largest larch groves in southwestern B.C. (reputedly the oldest trees in Canada, at 2000 years old). Sunday, we'll head along a pretty ridge to the first of the Three Brothers. Monday's objective is Snow Camp Mountain, a shorter hike that will allow people to get back to Vancouver in time for Monday supper.
The drive-in Lightning Lakes Campground (25$ a night) currently has lots of room. To reserve, go to: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/ecmanning
One group of us will be heading up after work on Friday; I'll have room in my car for several passengers. Alternatively, folks may prefer to head up early Saturday -- or early Sunday -- for the single day, or for some combo of overnights.
This is an inclusive, non-technical, classic hiking weekend with something for everyone.
