Trip Description

Leave on Saturday 04:30 sharp from the Chevron at Boundry Rd.

Up and down Slesse on Saturday. It's a long day without much chance for rest -- we keep moving at a steady pace. You must be fit and comfortable scrambling Class 3/4 rock both up and down climbing. We will leave the car around 06:30 and expect to be back by 8pm.

  • I am in  the process of confirming that the Slesse Creek gate is unlocked so that we don't need mountain bikes for the approach on the logging road (approx 8 km riding each way). If the gate is locked I will likely cancel the trip.
  • Bring enough water for a hard hike in hot weather -- there probably won't be any water along the way.
  • Mandatory equipment: helmet, harness, rappel gear for an 8mm single rope, prussik cord for an 8mm fixed rope. Hiking pole(s) recommended. I will bring the rope and webbing for rappelling and a minimal rack to lead and setup a fixed rope on the 5.6 pitch.
  • Keep in mind that the Slesse trail is one of the hardest, steepest trail to do in the lower mainland. You MUST be fit and have endurance or you may be asked to wait for the group in a comfortable location part ways up. If you are not comfortable with this idea, then please refrain from signing-up.

Please sign-up online or email me if you have questions.
