Trip Description

The plan is to connect with Dave Scanlon's North Creek Camp that is posted starting on august 25th, perhaps spend a few days climbing & scrambling with them, then traverse over toward Pebble Creek Cabin (perhaps stay there & scramble from there a bit; up toward Fasp mountain for views over the larger icefields beyond. Thiassi mountain may also be an option en route) and then hike out via MacParlon Creek, which is 1 day of travel on a rough trail then logging road down to the Downton Lake Logging Road where we should be able to hitch a ride back to the car in Pemberton.  Other exits, such as via Lone goat Creek or The Semaphore Lakes/railroad pass to the Hurley Road, are also being considered.

See the North Creek Trail description on bivouac: http://bivouac.com//TripPg.asp?TripId=6595

We should be able to have some of our supplies flown in with the North Creek Camp trip to keep the pack light for the hike to the alpine, and someone from that trip should be able to drive our car back to pemberton for easier access once we are out the other side.

I hope to keep most of the days to less than 8 hours of strenuous travel, but a few bigger days are likely, though generally focusing on finding nice places for lunches, camps and frequent swims.  I also intend to keep gear to a minimum and avoid travel in areas that require more than a light safety rope for glacier travel.  Bushwacking & boulder walking is inevitable.
