Alpine Practice @ mt. Seymour

NOT A COURSE

Skills Required: MUST HAVE PREVIOUS BELAY/RAPPEL/ANCHORS TRAINING . Must have completed at least one PD+ ice/snow route from Alpine Select List.

Agenda: avalanche rescue response, moving in winter alpine terrain, climbing, downclimbing steep snow/ice, running belays / full belays (rope teams of 2, rope teams of 3), dealing with cornices, rappel off snow bollards.

Personal Gear: snowshoes, avalanche gear (beacon, snow shovel, probe), half 8mm 60m rope (or else), snow/ice alpine climbing set (incl. helmet, climbing harness, ice tools (hammer+adze), 2+ ice screws, snow pickets (1 short 1 long with runners attached), crampons (any type), rock pro/minimal rack (if you have), rappel material, ascenders (ti block, jumar), personal emergency kit, headlamp, etc.

Carpool: Indicate if you will drive or carpool. To plan meeting locations organizer will use address from your profile.
