This trip will be a mid-week trip down a local canyon on the North Shore.
The trip involves a 30 minute hike from the parking lot to the drop-in point, where we will put on our wetsuits and helmets, and start hiking down the creek. For the next 3 or 4 hours, we will wade, swim, splash, rappel, hike and otherwise meander our way through the canyon. The entire trip can be done in approximately 4 to 6 hours, depending upon number of participants, how many photos we stop for, and how big a hurry we are in.
Final waterfall rappel in Cypress Creek
Skills required: You should know how to rappel, and be comfortable in water.
Equipment required: A wetsuit (if the weather is quite hot, a shorty suit should be adequate, but a moderate (3 or 4mm) full wetsuit is preferable), climbing helmet, harness and rappel device, and non-leather shoes. A small daypack is adequate (for carrying shorts & t-shirt) and perhaps a drybag if you have one (though the organizer will have extras.) Bring a waterproof camera, if you've got one, and good protection for anything not waterproof (though, once again, the organizer will have some room for cellphones, keys, etc.) Waterproof snacks are also a good idea.
