*The weather forecast has postponed this trip till June 25th.
NFNWR = North Face of the North West Ridge (It requires an acronym)
Pretty much one of the most fun ski descents around.
1000m of steep skiing up to 50 degrees near the bottom. We'll need a warm weekend so the snow isn't scary. Definitely a bit of exposure on this route.
We'll leave early Friday night for the 6 hour drive to the trailhead, Hike in Saturday and go aclimatize on the North Ridge with a warm-up ski descent. Wake up at a leisurely time (no alpine starts here) and climb then ski the NFNWR. Hike out, drink A LOT of coffee, drive back to Vancouver.
Bring American money for the parking / camping fee.
TR from last year here: http://www.skisickness.com/post/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=116
Back up plan will be another route on Adams or Rainier if the weather doesn't co-operate.
Bring: A helmet (rockfall), crampons (just in case), ice axe (to look hard core), harness (schrund), & your glisse gear (for whatever it is you like to slide on).
