Planning for a 3 night/4 day trip to Elfin Lakes in Garibaldi Provincial Park. This will be a family friendly event, but all members are welcome to join. There are different hiking objectives in the area for individuals with varying experience/skill/fitness levels. e.g. Gargoyles, Columnar Peak, Opal Cone and Mamquam Lake.

Elfin Lakes Shelter Booking: Individuals will be responsible for their own reservation at the Elfin Lakes Shelter for July 24-27 period. Once you have shared the shelter (or tent) reservation, your participation on this trip will be confirmed. There are 33 spots available in the shelter (11 double bunks, 11 single). If you are not able to reserve a bunk bed in the shelter, you can book one of the tent sites (35). Booking is on a rolling three month window. So for us, we will have to login to BC Parks reservation site at 7 am on Apr 24, 2026 and make the booking. I will send a reminder to everyone who signs up.

All adults joining this trip should have BCMC Membership. The Non-Members you might see in the participant list below are youth members.

Garibaldi Provincial Park is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Lil̓wat7úl (Lil’wat) Nations. The primary mountain within the park, Mount Garibaldi, is known to the Squamish Nation as Nch’ḵay̓ (pronounced in-ch-KAY), which means "dirty place" or "grimy one," referring to the volcanic debris in the Cheekye River.
