We have a few spots left for a wonderful week at an amazing backcountry hut. We will fly in and out of the Pebble Creek cabin and spend the week backcountry skiing. The terrain offers a mix of tree runs, alpine bowls, and glacier runs. Skiers should be in good shape, have their AST 1 or better, and be able to handle all snow conditions from great powder to breakable crust and open meadows to tight trees. The terrain is large and diverse. This should not be your first ski trip, but there is plenty of terrain for all abilities. Plan on being out on the hills from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and skiing around 1000m to 1500 m per day, with more or less depending on weather, snow conditions and your condition. The cabin is warm and cozy, and has a propane stove and oven and all the kitchen implements you might find in a well-stocked kitchen in town. There are good sleeping mats, a sauna, and a shower. Generally, the cabin is too warm, but it can cool off overnight to around freezing. If it's -25 outside, it could drop to -5 inside by the morning but warms up quickly when the fire is lit. We will be doing group meals. Plan on cooking a dinner and breakfast for the whole group. Good food is important on those long winter nights, so plan on gourmet. Refrigeration is not an issue for frozen foods or tender vegetables. Clean water is available from the nearby lake. The cost is about $1000, although that could change a bit based on the final helicopter bill, which will be shared. Flights are unpredictable at this time of the year, so be prepared to wait to get into the cabin, or to get out. It is best not to schedule something critical for the day after the trip is supposed to finish. There are no refunds due to poor weather, ski conditions or avalanche forecasts. Refunds are only given if it is not possible to fly in or if you find someone to replace you.
