Trek to Summit Round Mountain

Trek up to Summit Round Mtn and check out early season snow at Paul Ridge

Pace will be adjusted for the group. 

Friendly early season trip to test gear and check equipment for winter.

Focus is on trailhead procedures, winter travel, getting your gear figured out, discussing transceivers and testing them if you bring one, snow base, and avy essentials.

We will take a short break in the Red Heather shelter.

Gear required: Your own 10 essentials.

Suggested: Digital transceiver, Metal Shovel, Probe. Snowshoes or trail crampons. Skis at your peril :)

Review the 10 essentials and bring with you what is appropriate for this activity.

Organizer will bring GPS watch with tracks; GMRS Radios; inReach/Personal Locator Beacon; Basic first aid kit.

Winter tires and carry chains required to access Diamond Head upper parking.

6:55am  Attendance and final carpooling plans at West Van meeting location.
