Trip Description

Overview

My wife and I are staying in Whistler and plan to visit a local crag. The drive from Vancouver may not be worth it, but if you're in the Whistler area or eager to climb here, join us! This crag is new to us—it might be mossy or amazing. Check the topo at Quickdraw Publications for details.

Trip Details
  • Goal: My wife and I will be climbing for about 4 hours. Feel free to stay longer with other BCMC members on this trip

  • Climbing Routes: Targeting grades 5.7 to 5.12. Whatever your prefer! Check out the Topo.

  • Time:

    • Carpool Option: Meet at St. David’s Church in West Vancouver at 9:00 AM, expecting to return around 5:00 - 6:00 PM.

    • Direct to Crag: Meet at the cul-de-sac parking near condos on Nordic Drive at 10:30 AM.

  • Weather/Cancellation: If the trip is canceled due to weather or other issues, I’ll notify the group at least 12 hours in advance.

Gear Requirements
  • Harness

  • Rock shoes

  • Chalk bag

  • Belay device (preferably assisted-braking)

  • Personal anchor system

  • Anchor material

  • Rope

  • quickdraws

Note: If carpooling, someone else will need to organize at St. David’s Church, as I’ll already be in Whistler. If heading directly to the crag, bring all gear and meet at the parking lot described in the Quickdraw topo or on Mountain Project.

Food & Drinks
  • Bring enough food and water for 4–6 hours (~2L water, snacks, lunch).
