I have a 4x4 that should be able to make it to the end of the rough FSR, we will hike up 500m to Williamson Lake and set up camp at the lake. The plan is to start early in the morning and hike up the complete south ridge of Welch per Matt Gun's Scrambles route with mostly Class 3. Descending from the sub-summit, There will likely be steep talus & scree on the traverse down to the Welch-Foley col. Foley has an exposed alpine Class 3/4 ridge scramble.
You can find more details about the route and GPX file here: https://stevensong.com/coastal-interior-bc/bc-cascades/welch-peak/

What to bring: Overnight camping gear, food and water for the whole day, first aid kit, proper shoes/boots, helmet. Spikes and poles may be needed if there is remaining snow left.
*We will need to move at a moderate/fast pace to complete the hike during daylight
Distance ~13km
Elevation Gain ~2100m
