Expect an early start and a long day! To avoid a super early wake up time, I would like to drive up and camp near the Wedgemount Lake Trailhead on Friday night so please bring overnight camping gear or if you prefer you can meet early at the trailhead.
~24km with 2300+ m of elevation gain. We will hike up to Wedegemount Lake, then up to Mt Cook and then take the ridgeline up to Mt. Weart, which is a class 3/4 scramble, you must be comfortable moving unroped in 4th class terrain.
Helmets are mandatory, a light ice axe and crampons/microspikes should not be necessary this time of year as there seems to be a way to stay on rock from a recent trip report https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19ooTUZo5v/ Bring plenty of food, water poles and the essentials. Please only sign up if you are certain that you have the fitness and experience required for this trip. If you are uncertain, feel free to shoot me a message and we can discuss!
