Expect an early start and a long day!
~24km with 2300+ m of elevation gain. We will hike up to Wedegemount Lake, then up to Mt Cook and then take the ridgeline up to Mt. Weart, which is a class 3/4 scramble.
Helmets are mandatory, a light ice axe and crampons/microspikes may be useful on the descent from Mt Weart. A trip report from July 10th noted that there was still snow on this descent, and was a bit steep in areas. Bring plenty of food and water.
