A peak-bagging trip to the Downton area, mostly on class 3 scrambling terrain with a few touches of class 4. Side-hilling skill will be needed at some points. We'll be moving with moderate pace.
Given the FSR is now clear of obstacles to 1800m elevation, I'm hoping to finish these 6 peaks in one go: Soprano Peak - Mezzo Peak - Contralto Peak - Mount Schroeder - Linus Mountain - Statimcets Peak (Peak 8700). This traverse has been done in full by Jesse Scharf 2 years ago. Thanks Jesse, Oleg K. and Christine Le for their recent betas.
The plan is to car camp on Friday evening and start hiking on Saturday morning. We'll meet at St. Davids United Church at 5:30PM on Friday July 11th for carpooling.
If you have a 4WD and are willing to drive, let me know in the questionnaire. The Branch 2 of the FSR is a bit overgrown and some pinstriping will be expected.
GPX from Jesse: https://www.strava.com/routes/3377752891532913536
(the GPX stats includes his biking track, which is no longer necessary as we will be able to drive straight to 1800m elevation)
Estimated Stats:
Elevation gain: 1500m
Distance: 15km
