Situated up Lynn Valley, the North, Center and South Needle is a spicy, lengthy endeavor. Anticipate a long day with lots of steep terrain. I haven't done this route yet, and I am open to negotiation on alternate routes from more experienced minds (as always).
I am a moderately paced hiker and climber, and the pace will be dictated by the pace of the group. To give ourselves an advantage to the day, I propose we bike up the Seymour Reservoir, hike up the Pelon Peak trail to Norvan Pass, then down Hydraulic Trail. We will also start as early as possible to give us a long day of daylight.
There might be snow, and the route up North Needle is super steep. So, microspikes and a mountaineering axe are non negotiable. I'll probably bring a helmet, maybe a small rope. Otherwise, the usual hiking equipment is all that's needed.
Meet at the Seymour Reservoir gate at 6AM (yeow!). We might have room for another bike, but that's up to my friend.
Trip hinges on reasonable weather, as climbing in the rain will be hazardous.
