Trip objectives (weather dependent):
1. Ascend Crown Mountain (hike/scramble).
2. Climb the Camel (middle fifth class).
3. Break the 1925 record for most persons on the Camel's head at once. (17 - see 1923 photo. Tom Fyles is the person on right.)
4. Fly a large Canadian flag in the gap between Crown and Camel. Ideally one visible from Canada Place. We have a 6 m x 12 m flag, and are working on getting a larger one. The flag and lines would only be in place for an hour or two, and the aviation authorities notified.
5. Get drone footage of everything, if it's possible to do so.
6. Have a post-trip social.
And above else, safety. CROWN IS A MOUNTAIN HIKE, INVOLVING SOME SCRAMBLING. THE CAMEL IS A MOUNTAIN ROCK CLIMB, WHERE SUITABLE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EQUIPMENT ARE MANDATORY. THIS IS NOT AN INSTRUCTIONAL TRIP!
We'll probably have an early start, and some may go up the day before to set things up.
