I have hiked to Petgill Lake many times, typically this time of year, in rain and snow. It is a great shoulder season ritual and a good workout. It is a low key, moderate hike through the woods, finishing at a small lake. The views of Howe Sound can be very nice, and we typically have the hike largely to ourselves.
Some previous experience with hiking is expected, but this not a technical hike. Bringing microspikes for traction can be a good idea, or a good practice, though not very necessary. This trip will go irrespective of the weather or conditions, barring highway closures or bears in the area (I've only run into one).
Meetup time is 8AM at St. David's Church. Logistics and gear can be addressed in the forum.
