Beginners overnighter to Sugarloaf (Pemby)

Access via miller bench. FSR

Ski, split or snowshoe, I am a slow split boarder.

Did this one on snowshoes a couple years ago, would like to redo as a spring split tour, Drive up as far as we can, skin up the rest for a camp at the viewpoint somewhere before the hut area, somewhere with some views. (14km from the very bottom of the fsr, we will definitely be doing less). Follow relatively open forest to the ridge line and summit, descend via similar route

shovel, tranciever and probe are required. Bear spray is required. Opportunity to practise crevasse rescue on some steeper slopes.
