Inspired by Paul K., this approach starts at Whistler RV park and follows a logging road(6.5KM) to 850m.
We then ski through a clear-cut to reach timber that can be fairly tight. There could be icy patches and tree bombs and shallow creek crossings. The timber band is between 850 and 1050 meters. Above, the terrain is very nice open subalpine.
The conditions in the trees may be difficult, albeit that portion is not very long(1km or so) so it is best to come prepared with ski crampons for a challenging and exciting skiing experience:)
Please be considerate and do NOT sign up unless you are 100% committed for the trip and you are at least an intermediate skier(can do black runs in any conditions, including trees) in the Backcountry. If in doubt about your capabilities send me a message and we can talk about it:). Minimum of 10 days of backcountry skiing experience is required top join this trip.
Will be moving at a moderate-fast pace. Not for slow people, sorry.
