Mt. Thiassi via the NE Ridge (2772m)
Access via North Creek.
Day 1/2 Hike in day.
Pass North Creek hut and camp at the meadows below the pass. If feeling feisty, ascend the pass and camp at the base of the NE ridge. Approx 14 km to the meadow, 17km to the top of the pass. Expect moderate bushwack at times.
Day 2/3 Summit day.
Ascend the NE ridge line between the Pebble and Mcparlon glaciers. Head towards Mt Watts, and around the summit block of Wenceslas Drop and continue on to the ridge and summit of Thiassi. Approx 12-16km camp to camp.
Day 3/4 Hike out day.
Descend back or along gun sight pass for a quicker but steeper descent. looks like approach shoes terrain. Hike to North Creek and stay the night. depending on the group, perhaps do Delilah the next day (extra day)or hike out. Approx 12 – 14km
Be prepared for 8-10(+) hrs of hiking per day (with breaks) over varied and steep terrain. Moderate bushwhack, creek crossings, some glacier travel and class 4-5. Bring some cams and nuts if desired.
A pre-trip meeting is required for participants. Zoom or in person (beers).
Aim is for 4 days out and back. budget for 5.
Weather dependent.
Road access is somewhat degraded, an AWD or 4x4 access is required. HC preferable. Gpx is available.
