Trip Description

Tszil Mountain is a summit in the Joffre Group, offering breathtaking views. The route via the Tszil Glacier is highly recommended as a beginner-friendly mountaineering objective.

Starting from the Joffre Lakes parking lot, we’ll follow the Joffre Lakes Trail to the upper lake, where we’ll leave the marked trail and begin our ascent toward Tszil Glacier. The route crosses moraines and glaciated terrain before reaching the col between Tszil and Slalok Mountain. From here, a steep climb leads to the summit, offering unparalleled 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks.

We will rope up to travel over the glacier. Depending on how many people are interested, I might increase the participant up to 8 people (two rope teams).
