Mt. Fromme is a great shoulder season fitness training hike in the North Shore, with some nice views at the end. A bump longer and harder than the BCMC trail, this trail will never get boring! Never! Sounds tantalizing? Well, come on down! I will be aiming to do this hike in a zone 2 pace - so Fitness Training Pilot People are welcome to join in!
I am a moderate hiker at a slightly moderate pace, which means I tend to fall behind the more fit variety. I have hiked this beast before, and survived.
You are a moderately fit hiker, or better. You have some background in hiking, all the basic equipment.
Yes, it will likely rain, possibly a lot. This trip can be done in the rain, but we can negotiate a smaller objective (Kenny Falls at the base of the mountain) if it is starting to look ridiculous.
Meet up at the end of St. George's Avenue at 9AM. I am leaving from Kitsilano at 5th and Yew, and would be happy to carpool. I will give late comers a 10 minute window, but no more.
I will bring: a hiking pole, microspikes, warm clothing, a change of clothing, rain gear, waterproof light hiking boots.
