This trip is open to all BCMC Members. However, those registered in the BCMC Pilot Training Program may benefit from it. This is a "Hiking with Poles (Meters Day)" in Zone 2 (chill pace—low and slow), not rubbing and racing. However, you can go at your own pace, and we can all meet at the top for food/coffee/drinks.
The plan is to meet in the Grouse Parking Lot in front of the washrooms at 4pm. We will leave at 4:10, start with a warm-up on the Powerline trail, up Larsen Trail, connect to the BCMC trail, and head to the lodge. For those who wish, we can do a little detour to SIMIC trail and see some of the old run-down cabins and debris for fun.
Go at your own pace. This is not a competition for time but rather a chance to complete a chill workout together. I will ride the gondola down, but you're welcome to hike down if you wish. Be prepared with a headlamp.
Workout pasted from Evoke Training / Training Peaks:
Aim to hike 800 meters/2600 feet today using poles.
Keep your HR in Zone 2 or below
