The BCMC has partnered with Canada West Mountain School to offer a discounted AST-1 course for Snowshoers. (Cost is $205 for club members, $245 to the general public)

The Canada West Snowshoe Avalanche Skills course is designed specifically for snowshoers travelling in the backcountry.  Snowshoers often choose different terrain and routes, and CWMS has developed  AST curriculum and course delivery that focuses on the unique needs of those snowshoers who want to ensure they are staying safe from avalanches while in the backcountry. Based in North Vancouver and Mount Seymour.
