I have a booking for 1 tent pad at Og Lake for 1 night and Lake Magog for 2 nights. The current reservation is for 1 person, but I'm pretty sure I can change it to accommodate up to 4 people per tent pad (2 2-person tents max).
The route is a thru-hike. The plan is to start at the Sunshine trailhead and finish at the Mount Shark trailhead. There's no public transportation to my knowledge, so we’ll need one additional vehicle for this trip.
Trip Plan:
Day 1 (Sep 16): Drive to the Sunshine Village area (roughly 9 hours from Vancouver). Car camp or share an Airbnb (TBD) for the night.
Day 2 (Sep 17): Take the Sunshine Gondola ($50?) and hike to Og Lake (~21 km, 800 m elevation gain).
Day 3 (Sep 18): Hike to Lake Magog in the morning (short and mellow), set up camp, and explore the area.
Day 4 (Sep 19): Day hike around Lake Magog.
Day 5 (Sep 20): Hike out via Wonder Pass (~27 km, 650 m elevation gain). Depending on everyone's energy level, we may also add another night at Big Springs Camp.
Day 6 (Sep 21): Drive back home.
We'll hike at a moderate pace and can split up on days 3 and 4 for day hikes. There are plenty of options in the area.
The trip will happen RAIN OR SHINE (unless there's a wildfire or severe storm). Please only sign up if you're 100% committed and prepared for any weather.
You MUST have: The 10 essentials and gear for a multi-day trip.
We will share all costs as a group (gas, reservation fee, National Park Pass, etc.).
