I am Flying to Nepal on October first and will land 3 days later in Kathmandu. The flight to Lukla (included) is around October 8th and will be followed by a trekk to Mera Peak (6400m) which I will summit for extra acclimatization to altitude but this is optional, the real goal is Mt. Barunste (7100m). I am going with Annapurna foothills Treks & expeditions as they are a local agency located in Kathmandu!
The expedition is 8000$US per person but the price will go down with each new climber joining the team (Max 4 climbers, me included). We will be assigned 1 sherpa guide per climber + other team members and porters. We will use fixed lines on summit day, otherwise it is supposed to be a pretty straight forward route with view on Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Kachenjunga and Makalu!
I am still the only person participating with this agency who is incredibly helpful and secure, and having a team of Canadians representing BCMC would be incredible.
