I am proposing to build a new hiking trail in the Callaghan Valley to Puma Peak, NE of Madeley Lake, following the usual route used for winter ascents.  This trip will explore the route in summer conditions to determine the ground conditions and establish a first pass at the general routing.

Starting from 1km up the rainbow-madeley trail, the route follows a series of connected boulder fields, with forest bushwhacking sections in between.
