We will review the fundamentals of lead belaying, building and cleaning anchors and how to managing risk. If the wall is too busy, we can walk around Smoke Bluffs and find a different area. We can also split up so our group doesn't look like we're monopolizing the wall. If you're late, text me to see where we are. 

Our goal is to ensure that all participants climb in a safe and friendly environment. We are a small group of friends that have been climbing together for a year. We met through the BCMC mentorship program and are happy to share our knowledge to new climbers that want to make climbing friends.

Bring snacks and plenty of water. In keeping with the theme, we're planning to grab a burger at Flipside afterwards. 

 Required Climbing Gear:

• Helmet
• Harness
• Climbing shoes
• Belay device
• Locking carabiner

 Additional Climbing Gear:

• Rope (If you have one, please bring yours too).
• Quickdraws / trad rack
• Chalk bag
• Prusik
• Personal Anchor System (PAS) or sling
• Anchor building material (4 locking carabiners, 240cm sling (quad anchor - 240 length) or 120cm sling (Y anchor - 120 length)
• Crack gloves
