This is a two-day hike to Eldorado Peak, a strenuous 7000ft 8 mile out-and back climb. Many do this in one day but it is a beast, so 2 days make it much more friendly. I have pulled a permit for 4 people. It is a Sunday-Monday because Saturday was booked up.
Will carpool, can discuss details in the planning forum. Leaving Metro Vancouver no later than 0800, we will drive to the Marblemount Ranger Station to pick up our permit. Then will proceed to the trailhead. Day 1 hike to Roush Creek Basin Camp and set up for the night (4000ft gain). Day 2 will be an early start, hike and climb to the summit (3000ft gain). Descend and hike out.
This trip has several challenges:
Recent trip reports advise that a lot has melted out, including the summit ridge. So no iconic knife-edge snow ascent. It's a rocky scramble.
Lots of online route descriptions that do a better job describing it than me! Make sure you review them and some of the videos to see if you are up for it. Will review gear lists closer to the trip.
