If the weather forecast does not improve, this trip could be pushed to the holiday Monday 2 days later .
We did Mt Bishop last week and it was so enjoyable that I'm going back, but this time to tag its close neighbours, Deacon and Presbyter Peaks. Video here: or https://youtu.be/sJ0jpZfT8pA?si=r3YwMZvfDq4OeQtb
The bike up the Seymour Valley is 12kms each way, and the hike is another ~7kms up the fun trail, passing Vicar Lakes. Flagging is good and the snow will likely be similar to last week; soft but fine without snowshoes. Gaiters strongly recommended. Ice axe optional, and poles with snow baskets would be handy on the upper stretch
Expect a big day covering a total of ~36 km and 1,600m gain over 8 -9 hours. Pace will be brisk but not a race. You should be able to bike reasonably well and do the Grind or 10 km run in under 75 mins. If you regularly commute by bike, you're more than well suited.
The hike up is quite fun and with the many fix ropes and moves; I describe it as an obstacle course for hikers.
Sorry for the short notice. Will be an epic day and you'll be back in time for dinner.
