This is a course for BCMC members provided by Canada West Mountain School. This Intro to Wilderness First Aid (IWFA) focuses on medical concepts and basic life support skills that will help you react in a backcountry emergency. Students will learn to improvise first aid systems with a variety of common materials available to you on most outdoor activities. IWFA is targeted to outdoor enthusiasts who participate on day or weekend trips, winter or summer.
Base course fee: $236 for members ($295 regular)
Logistics: The course will run from approximately 8am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and April 7, 2024 in North Vancouver or West Vancouver.

(1) Click "Join this Trip" on the left hand side of the page. You will be added to the Waiting List
(2) Complete your payment directly with CWMS at the link provided on the left hand side of the page under "Course Online Payment". This link will be visible once you're on the Waiting List
(3) You will receive a confirmation email from CWMS once your payment is completed. Forward your confirmation email to courses@bcmc.ca. You will then be added to the Confirmed List
(4) Keep an eye on your inbox for further information
Trip Organizer and Volunteer Incentive Program:
If you've volunteered your time as either:
(1) a trip organizer with 4 or more outdoor trips in the past 12 months, you may apply for a 25% debate off the course fee, or
(2) a course instructor as the primary volunteer organizer in the past 12 months, you may apply for a 50% refund off the course fee.
